Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the questions we’re asked most. If yours isn’t here, just get in touch.

Why book with Pyramid Golf Tours?

Let us take the stress out of the organising. With a great team looking after you, and fully aware of your itinerary while you’re here, you can just play well and relax.

What’s included?
  • Your accommodation, in a hotel or villa
  • Tee times, booked around your flights
  • All transfers: airport, hotel and courses
  • Half board, which is breakfast and dinner

Flights aren’t included, so you book your own.

Are flights included?

No, you book your own flights. Direct flights from the UK land at either Cairo International or Sphinx International airport. Once you’ve booked, send us your flight details and we’ll take it from there.

Will someone meet us at the airport?

Yes. Airport pick-ups are always part of your transfers, so we’ll collect you when you land.

How do we get to the courses?

Every course is a short transfer from where you’re staying, and your transfers are always included.

Which courses can we play?

We offer seven: Palm Hills, NewGiza, The Allegria, Dreamland, Katameya Dunes, Katameya Heights and Madinaty Golf Club. We tailor the mix to your group. You’ll find the details on our Golf courses page.

Where will we stay?

Many of our groups stay at the Hilton at Dreamland, right beside the golf course. We also arrange villas and other five-star hotels, depending on your group.

Do I need a handicap?

As a rule, no. A few courses, such as Katameya Heights, do ask players to hold an official handicap index, and we’ll let you know in advance if one applies to your trip.

Is there anything for non-golfers?

Yes. There’s sightseeing and tours with our own Egyptologist, Mohammed Tawab, as well as padel, tennis, cycling and footgolf. See Beyond the golf for more.

Can you plan a trip for a society or a group of friends?

Yes. Pyramid Golf Tours began with a tour for a society, and every trip is tailored to the group.

How do we book?

Tell us what you’d like using the form on our Contact page, and we’ll come back to you with ideas and tailor the trip around your group.

How much does a trip cost?

Every trip is tailored, so the price depends on your group, your hotel, the number of rounds and the time of year. As an example, five nights at the Hilton (sharing), four rounds of golf, and a tour of the Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum costs £1,495 per person for a group of four golfers, or £1,395 per person for a group of eight. Transfers are included, but flights are not. Get in touch for a quote for your own group, or see the example trip in full.

When is the best time to go?

You can play all year round, apart from July and August, when it’s hotter and the courses carry out their maintenance. January and February are cooler, but still beautiful.

Do I need a visa?

Yes, UK visitors need a visa to enter Egypt, and it’s simple to apply online at the official Egyptian government website, visa2egypt.gov.eg. Only use that official site, as others charge extra for the same visa, and check the current entry rules before you travel.

Do we need travel insurance?

Yes. Please make sure you have insurance that covers travel to Egypt and golf.
